Elder Carl Burnett was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. He is a retired Dean and educator with over 30+ years of service in the New York City Public School System. He received Jesus Christ as his personal savior as a young adult in 1980. In 1986, he joined The Tabernacle of Prayer for All People under the former leadership of Apostle Ira Davison and remained under the vibrant leadership of his pastor, the late Bishop Ronny Davis, in whom he served faithfully until he went home to be with the Lord in August of 2024.
Elder Burnett immediately became active in ministry and became the Sunday School Superintendent. As a result of his educational and occupational background, his passion for the souls of the youth and young adults became increasingly evident. Many young souls inside and outside of Tabernacle were brought to Christ through his down-to-earth, but no less soul-stirring, preaching of the gospel. As a result, he later became the Youth Pastor of the Tabernacle of Prayer and the teacher of the Youth for Christ Class along with his wife, Minister Kim Burnett, whom he affectionately calls “sunshine”. Together, they have a special ability designed by God to deposit seeds of encouragement, love, and support to the many young people they have encountered. After leading the of the Lord, he accepted the call as a minister on December 15th, 1996, and was later ordained an Elder on August 4, 2000, at the Annual Deeper Life Crusade Convention of the Tabernacle Fellowship.
Elder Carl not only takes his role in the church seriously, but he is also a dedicated family man. In 1987, Carl Burnett and Kim Burnett were joined in holy matrimony. They have been married and in love for 38 years, and their fire still burns. Through this union, they have three children: Jerome, Nina, and Timothy. Two grandchildren: Summer Nicole and Alan Raymond Bonds III (AJ). Elder Carl continues to grow according to the Lord’s leading. He is a humble man of God who desires nothing more than to please God and to be an encouragement to others. Carl Burnett’s favorite saying “I Feel Good” runs evident as he continues to do a work for the Lord.
